hmmm, never heard of it

you can take the girl out of the small town

September 13 – September 19

Psychosis Is Just a Number — Guerilla Toss

B-52s & Spiral Beach for the new kids on the block

CANNIBALISM! — Slayyyter

eat people or eat 😻. the choice is yours

quédate esta noche — Corina Smith (Venezuela)

2013-style sleepytime EDM

Bolo Bolo — W.i.S.H. & Panther (India)

there’s j-pop, k-pop, and now presenting i-pop

Art Museum (2am) — Cautious Clay

nearly the same infectious bassline groove as “Yes I’m Changing” by Tame Impala with thick & warm vocals instead

It’s My Life — The Tiarras

can you believe the original was released in 1984?? this cover adds the feminine power we first got with Gwen Stefani’s version and takes it step further with multi-part harmonies

I Just Need Enough — Graham Hunt

anyway, here’s Beck’s “Loser”

Slifer the Sky Dragon — Will Paquin

i’m getting a lot more into music theory lately and my current intuitive guess is that this has the same time signature as doo wop which gives it a nice swaying feeling. thoughts?

Mille vagues — Feu! Chatterton (France)

the album overall was such vibe: elements of modern indie, jazz guitar & wind instruments, a feeling of intimacy with the soft vocals, and the pop sensibilities of fellow French band Phoenix. i share a bed with a Francophile and this got the seal of approval.

Puerta — Los Aptos

vocal style of Rex Orange County (including some of the indie pop standard vibes) but includes some of the waltzy time signatures of regional Mexican music without being in your face about it. this is a great entry point to the Spanish indie rock genre

Funny — Broncho

if you skipped the last song because i scared you about it being in Spanish, but you loved this one, just do yourself the favor and go back! i discovered “Funny” after asked how people find new music outside the algorithm/apps. try it out!

Eighty Hour Week — Idkconundrum

any fellow Mayday Parade fans out there? it’s like that but we’re raging about hating our jobs
